Ok so this infographic got posted on the FP because everyone loves making and staring at infographics right?

Kinja'd!!!

Now it doesn’t quite include all the “combat” vehicles of the U.S. Military. It doesn’t include any training aircraft or combat aircraft the U.S. Military uses for non-combat roles, like, say the T-38 Talon which is used by the U.S. Air Force as a training aircraft but it can carry bombs and missiles and is the premiere training aircraft of the USAF. Every pilot who sits in anything from an F-16 to an F-22 “superfighter” first starts out flying these. So how about I squeeze it in for them?

Kinja'd!!!

There we go, I’ll just squeeze that in right next to the F/A-18 Hornet, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in roughly the same scale (though I’m not convinced this is quite scale-adequate anyway).

And also on the FP we have this picture!

Kinja'd!!!

Yup, that’s a T-38 Talon (just like it says) right next to a presumably then-new Chevy Corvair!

That’s something to think about, I guess.

Wait a second...I saw Top Gun. That’s just a MiG with a paint job. Nice try, pinko! (also would like to see the primary trainers in there, like the Beech T-6)

That’s clearly not a military spec Corvair. It would need to have giant CHEVROLET CORVAIR stenciled letters on it along with a serial of some kind and maybe some type descriptions, like SEDAN, REAR ENGINE, ENTRY WEIGHT - Z TYPE. Also, DO NOT STEP on the front fenders, and NO ENTRY/EXIT WHILE IN MOTION on the doors and service points for things all clearly marked.

I own a ‘61 Corvair . There is no need for no step labels on the front fenders.

How many T-38s are combat coded?

Here’s another fun one (or three)-

But man, we need a bigger military for some reason.

The entire French Air Force and Naval Air Force, for scale.

You’d say that, but even planes that could not possibly be hurt by stepping in some places still say “no step” just to discourage it happening.
